Grand Prix
The Grand Prix is an annual competition for all Hamilton Harriers that is held over a number of races. The scoring system has been developed to give everyone a chance of winning the Grand Prix.
The aim is to:
-
Encourage members to take part in races during the year.
-
Improve performance levels for Harriers.
-
Introduce a competitive element into club running throughout the year.

Grand Prix rules
-
Points are awarded on completion of a race - 5 points for 1st home, down to 1 pt for 5th place and/or finishing.
-
For every 3 races where a harrier scores 1 point, an additional 5 bonus points are awarded.
-
6 races must be completed throughout the season to qualify, including one half marathon.
-
Any marathon run also counts as 5 points - only one per runner in the year is awarded points.
-
The list of qualifying races set out at the start of the year are found above. Any race that is cancelled will be replaced by a race in the same distance category (where possible).
-
Club vest MUST be worn to qualify, and registered as club member for results (assuming you have a vest of course! – speak to Ross Bickerstaff if you don’t)
-
Highest placing in 1 race in an "event series" is counted, not both.
-
Joker card - Play once and get double points for that race, but the harrier has to inform a Grand Prix contact before the race.
